The Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night attracted its biggest audience in 13 years, thanks in part to a Michael Jackson hologram.
The three-hour awards show, which aired on ABC, averaged 10.5 million people. The number reportedly spiked to 11.5 million during the half-hour in which a hologram version of the late Michael Jackson performed "Slave to the Rhythm," from the recently released posthumous album Xscape.
Justin Timberlake was the night’s biggest winner, collecting seven awards. He didn’t attend the ceremony but accepted two of his awards via prerecorded message.
