After being featured on two huge hits -- Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" and Icona Pop's "I Love It" -- Charli XCX is ready to step into the spotlight. The British singer/songwriter has just announced a North American headlining tour.
Charli's tour gets underway September 26 in Orlando, Florida, and is right now scheduled to wrap up October 25 in San Francisco. Fans who log onto her website can get pre-sale tickets, as well as an exclusive signed 7-inch single.
Meanwhile, Charli's song "Boom Clap," from the Fault in Our Stars soundtrack, has become her first top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 under her own name. Of course, she's been #1 for weeks now as part of "Fancy."
Speaking about the success of "Fancy," Charli, born Charlotte Aitchison, tells The New York Times, "I’m glad it’s working out for Iggy and that people from the hip-hop world are into it because I think she gets a rough ride because she’s Australian, white, female, or whatever. She’s just a great rapper." She adds, "Myself and her together are a very strange pairing."
