(NEW YORK) -- Hall of Famer Jim Kelly is cancer free, according to doctors on Tuesday. Kelly will be reevaluated over the next coming weeks, but doctors said there was "no evidence" of any sinus cancer.
"The treatments so far have completely eliminated Mr. Kelly's pain, and his level of function has essentially returned to normal," Dr. Peter Costantino said in a statement released by Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan.
"It is possible that no further treatment will be required, and the testing over the next week will define this issue," Costantino continued.
Kelly was diagnosed with oral cancer earlier this year before having the tumors removed. Doctors found a recurrence of that cancer in March, which led to more chemotherapy and radiation.
