The homeless man who accepted Miley Cyrus' Video of the Year award at the MTV VMAs, and who, it turned out, was a wanted man, turned himself in to an Oregon jail on Thursday night.
Twenty-two-year-old Jesse Helt turned himself in at the Polk County Jail and posted $2,500 bail, according to Oregon's Statesman Journal.
Helt was booked on a probation violation warrant. He was accused of violating probation stemming from a criminal mischief and criminal trespass case.
At the VMAs, Helt delivered a speech for Miley's VMA win to raise awareness of homeless young people.
After Helt's past came to light two days later, Miley tweeted her disappointment, writing, "The media never fails to disappoint. You've chosen to go after Jesse instead of covering the issue of youth homelessness."
