Kristen Stewart Won't Return to Star in "Snow White and the Huntsman"

Universal(LOS ANGELES) -- Kristen Stewart will not reprise her role in the Snow White and the Huntsman prequel, The Huntsman, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Although there's no word on why Stewart is bowing out of the role, many suspect it has something to do with the 2012 scandal involving the actress and Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. That year Stewart split from then-boyfriend Robert Pattinson after she was caught cheating on him with Sanders, who was married at the time.

Still, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth will reprise their roles as Ravenna and the Huntsman Eric, respectively.

The Huntsman, to be directed by three-time Oscar nominee Frank Darabont, will center on the relationship between Theron and Hemsworth's characters before they meet Snow White. It's a prequel to the 2012 film, and will hit theaters April 22, 2016.
