Not long ago, Lorde said in an interview that she was binge-watching Friday Night Lights. Now, she's gotten into a Twitter mutual admiration society with that show's star, Connie Britton, who currently appears on ABC's Nashville.
When Lorde was in New York City recently, she met with Helen Clark, who was the first female prime minister of Lorde's home country of New Zealand and who's now the the administrator of the United Nations Development Program. Clark posted a photo on her Instagram account of her and Lorde together, as Lorde was handing Clark an autographed copy of her hit debut album, Pure Heroine.
So what does this have to do with Britton? She's a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNDP, and when she saw Clark's photo, she tweeted, "I love this for so many reasons." Lorde replied, "you are the best connie xo," to which Britton responded, "No no, emphatically you are! And also @HelenClarkUNDP."
Britton, who plays country star Rayna James on Nashville, sings on the show quite often. Perhaps she and Lorde can do a duet someday.
