Image Group LA/ABCIggy Azalea postponed her Great Escape tour earlier this month after splitting with her tour producer over "creative differences," according to Billboard. Now, the publication reports that the rapper is looking forward to rescheduled dates now that she's got someone in her corner who really gets what she wants to do.
Iggy has partnered with Baz Halpin, the production designer who put together Katy Perry's Super Bowl halftime show, and Britney Spears' Vegas show Piece of Me. He's also worked with Taylor Swift and Pink, among others. "It's been great working with a new person who really understands my vision," Iggy tells Billboard. "It's taken some of the workload off me that he's able to understand what I'm trying to achieve instead of battling it, or it being lost in translation."
So what can fans expect from the tour, which will now kick off in the fall? "It's going to be maybe a bit like Blade Runner, full of dark and '80s ridiculous fare but not in a cliché way," she explains.
"With Baz, I really don't have to say it; he's thinking what I'm thinking, and it's great. I'm super-excited about the tour," she adds.
Nick Jonas was originally going to open for Iggy; she's expected to announce a new opening act soon.
