Alex Huckle/Getty ImagesThese are sad times for One Direction fans, and Madame Tussauds London feels their pain. The wax museum has stationed a full-time "Tissue Attendant" near the boy band’s wax likenesses, to dry the tears of emotional fans grieving over Zayn Malik’s departure.
Since Zayn announced he was leaving the band last week, fans have been flocking to the attraction’s One Direction-themed exhibit and crying over the figures of Zayn and band mates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan.
One of the attendants on duty, Guest Services Assistant Grace Cadden, said the museum recently received a delivery of 150 boxes of tissues “so we’re prepared.”
And don’t worry, Zayn’s wax figure isn’t going anywhere. “I want to reassure fans that we will absolutely not be removing Zayn from our One Direction line up -- all five boys will remain in the attraction as they have been since their arrival in 2013,” Madam Tussauds Marketing Manager Matt Clarkson said in a statement. “We will continue to play their music non-stop in their dedicated setting, and the Tissue Attendant will be on hand when needed.”
The last time Madame Tussauds London appointed a tissue attendant was when the One Direction wax figures were first unveiled two years ago.
