Jill Greenberg/RCA RecordsKelly Clarkson is revealing details of her new album Piece by Piece, well, piece by piece. In her latest gift to fans, she shares some lyrics and song titles from the album’s track listing.
“Each of these lyrics relates to an experience in my life, and I hope that some of these may trigger memories or reactions for y'all as well,” Kelly writes in a note to fans. “If it does, I would love to hear about it and why that lyric connected with you. I'll be checking in and reading your stories, and I might even reach out to you personally to hear more!”
One of the songs, called “Invincible,” seems to be in the same empowering vein as her hit “Stronger.” The lyrics read: “Now I am invincible/No I ain’t a scared little girl no more/ Yeah I am invincible/What was I running for/I was hiding from the world/I was so afraid I felt so unsure/Now I am invincible and I’m a perfect storm.”
The title track, “Piece by Piece,” includes the lyrics, “Piece by piece I fell far from the tree/I will never leave her like you left me/And she will never have to wonder her worth because unlike you I’m gonna put her first.”
And in another song called “War Paint,” the lyrics state: “We could be beautiful without our war paint, our war paint/And we could have it all once we let our walls break, our walls break.”
In total, Kelly reveals partial lyrics and titles for eight tracks, not counting the previously announced single “Heartbeat Song.” You can view them all, and share your comments, by going to PiecebyPiece.KellyClarkson.com.
Piece by Piece hits stores March 3. Kelly released a lyric video for “Heartbeat Song” on Monday.
